“Allowing yourself to heal is an act of love and courage.”
Biography
I am a Seattle raised physician assistant whose path to psychiatry was shaped less by a single moment and more by a slow and deeply personal accumulation of experiences. Growing up as a queer immigrant, I understood from an early age what it felt like to move through spaces that were not quite built for me and experience the loneliness that came from the feeling of alienation. Through my academic and work experiences with queer and immigrant populations, I have encountered the dark reality of how disproportionately mental illness affects these communities. These mental health issues and the lack of providers who understood their needs were not only statistics: they were also neighbors, friends, and people who deserved so much more. That realization planted the seed that grew into a calling, and I followed it back to MEDEX at the University of Washington, where I earned my physician assistant degree. During the clinical rotation portion of my training pipeline, I placed an emphasis on psychiatric care of marginalized people in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a provider, I believe that when the most overlooked members of a community are truly cared for, the entire community becomes healthier, more resilient, and stronger as a whole. I strive to deliver care that is compassionate, culturally informed, and rooted in the belief that every patient deserves to feel fully seen and respected.
